Did you know more than one third of U.S. adults don’t get the recommended amount of sleep each night1? Further, for people dealing with injuries or chronic illness, poor sleep is often a reality. And this isn’t good news for overall health. Sleep deficiencies can have negative effects on brain function, immunity, ability to heal, mental health and much more. But starting this fall, Meritain Health® members can rest easier. Beginning October 1, members enrolled in our Case Management Program will now be assessed for sleep disorders. If a need is detected, they’ll get to work with a certified sleep coach to achieve better sleep.

How does it work?

With this enhancement, upon entering the Case Management Program, members will now be given a sleep assessment. A series of questions aims to determine how they’re currently sleeping. If more support is needed, members will be referred to a certified sleep health coach. Sleep coaches work alongside the program’s primary case manager to give secondary support. This includes providing education, assessing sleeping patterns, offering helpful techniques and monitoring progress. Members will also receive a sleep journal to keep track of their sleeping habits.
