Giving Members Affordable Alternatives

Life is full of surprises. When unforeseen health issues arise, having someplace convenient and affordable to head to can be such a huge relief. MinuteClinic is committed to being there for members and their families—and anyone who needs access to high-quality care. When you visit, you’ll receive care from board-certified practitioners, delivering compassionate care with “heart”, a hallmark of the CVS Health® experience. Your visit is also likely to be quicker than a trip to the emergency room or urgent care. And you’ll spend much less. In our latest product spotlight, learn how to start giving members affordable alternatives with MinuteClinic, including access to no-cost or low-cost options.

All the services you need in one place

There are many reasons you might choose to visit a MinuteClinic. These range from getting treated for common illnesses and chronic conditions to receiving mental health support. So, whether you have allergy symptoms, a sprained ankle, or your child needs a last-minute camp physical, it’s an excellent option for everyday care you need.

As the nation’s largest network of board-certified retail health providers, MinuteClinic offers over 195 services. These are expanding regularly, but here are just a few:

    • Immunizations, including flu shots.
    • Treatment for strep throat, colds or sinus infections.
    • Help with injuries, like sprains, strains or joint pain.
    • Camp, college or sports physicals.
    • Screenings, such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure or diabetes.
    • Pre-travel vaccines and health consultations.
    • Mental health counseling and depression screenings.
    • Weight loss and smoking cessation programs.
    • Prescriptions for common illnesses.
Where can you find a MinuteClinic location?

MinuteClinic currently has over 1,100 available locations in 35 U.S. states and the District of Columbia. The walk-in clinics, located inside CVS Pharmacy®, CVS y mas, Navarro® and Target stores, are open seven days a week, including evenings and weekends. Appointments are generally recommended and are quick and easy to make online. For many services, virtual visits are also available.

Offering no-cost, low-cost options

Did you know Meritain Health® is the only third party administrator (TPA) able to provide CVS Health offerings as part of our solutions? Members can access MinuteClinic locations as a standard part of our Aetna® network. This means they can visit them and stay in-network.

But there are other perks associated with offering MinuteClinic, too. You can choose this benefit to give your employees and members access to no-cost or low-cost options. This includes discounted rates on many covered services and lower cost-shares for members. For members in copay-based plans, many services are available at a zero-dollar copay rate. It’s also a great way—and easy way—to boost engagement across broad populations.
